The Workspace serves as a user’s dashboard of configurations deployed to the shared server pool. The Workspace displays the current state of machine consoles and enables single click drilldown and effortless control of configurations.

VMware Lab Manager provides a browser-based remote-control view of a machine console, giving you desktop access of all remotely deployed machines. A user can even see all machines in a configuration, side-by-side on a single configuration console page.

With a single mouse click, users can instantly deploy configurations from the VMware Lab Manager library, a central repository for "live" captures of your gold-master images, reference platforms, target systems, historical releases, and customer production environments.

System configurations in VMware Lab Manager can span multiple virtual machines and network connections to represent even the most complex multi-tier applications and service oriented architectures.

The seamless integration with VMware VirtualCenter lets lab administrators assign flexible resource pools to groups of lab users for higher quality of service. Resource pools can be dedicated or shared among groups allowing lab users to deploy system configurations on specific infrastructure as needed.

VMware Lab Manager makes it easy to manage user roles and access rights, resource quotas and lease times. In addition, VMware Lab Manager provides out-of-the-box integration with Microsoft Active Directory and other LDAP-accessible directory servers.

VMware Lab Manager gives administrators a bird’s eye view of all deployed virtual machines, available capacity, resource utilization enabling detailed monitoring and control of all lab activity and simplified administration.
